The app

There are two parts inside. The service holds the tunnel and the network rules — it needs administrator rights, and they are asked for once, at install time. The window you press buttons in runs with ordinary rights and talks to the service over a named pipe.

Every release is signed. The app checks the signature before installing an update; the private signing key is not kept on the servers.

iPhone and iPad

We have no iOS app of our own yet — on iPhone, Ghostlane works with our servers and whitelist rooms. The guide and your key open after you sign in with your key.

Windows

Verified on Windows 10 and 11, Home and Pro editions: the network rules are set, close traffic and are removed; the handshake and data transfer go through standard WireGuard; signing in with a key works from key creation to getting an address inside the tunnel.

Android

Tested on Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei phones, old and new: the tunnel comes up and returns by itself when the network changes, traffic never leaves outside it, and updates arrive in the app and install from there. iPhone: no app of our own yet — Ghostlane from the App Store works, see the guide.

After installing

  1. Open the app and enter the key. Letter case, spaces and dashes do not matter.
  2. Press "Connect". With the firewall on, the rules go up before the tunnel does. It is off by default — switch it on in Settings, under Protection.
  3. Look at "Diagnostics": it shows how many rules are in place and which, which DNS is in use and when the last handshake was. netsh wfp show filters shows the same — ours are tagged with the provider name "MultiOBX VPN".
